Return and Refund Policy

Return Window

You may request a return within 7 days of the delivery date, based on the official courier tracking (e.g. EMS / PosLaju or their delivery partners). After 7 days, all sales are considered final and no returns will be accepted.

Refund Method

All approved returns are refunded as store credit only. Store credit:

  • does not expire,
  • can be used on any future purchase at chazhijitea.com, and
  • is issued for the value of the returned product(s) only.

Original shipping fees, customs duties, and payment processing fees are non-refundable.

Non-Returnable Items

For hygiene, safety, and authenticity reasons, the following items are not eligible for return or refund:

  • Opened or used tea products
  • Used teaware (e.g. teapots, kettles, cups, pitchers, strainers)
  • Antique teaware & vintage items
  • One-of-a-kind or handmade artisan pieces where natural variations are part of the design
  • Individual teacups
  • Gift cards
  • Subscription orders and subscription boxes
  • Free gifts, samples, or promotional items
  • Items marked as “final sale” on the product page

Handmade teaware (including Yixing purple clay, wood-fired ceramics, and artisan cups) may feature minor firing marks, clay variations, texture differences, or glaze spots. These characteristics are considered normal for handcrafted items and are not treated as defects.

Return Shipping Costs

Unless the item is confirmed defective or sent in error, customers are responsible for all return shipping costs.

  • We strongly recommend a trackable, insured shipping method.
  • Cha Zhi Ji is not liable for parcels lost or damaged during return transit.

If we confirm that an item is defective or incorrect, we will either provide a prepaid return label (where available) or reimburse reasonable return shipping costs, and send a replacement or store credit at no additional cost to you.

Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives. If you receive a defective, damaged, or incorrect item, you must contact us within 48 hours of the recorded delivery time.

When contacting us, please include:

  • Your order number
  • The affected item(s)
  • A description of the issue
  • Clear photos or videos showing the damage or defect

If the issue is confirmed, we will arrange a replacement, repair option (if applicable), or store credit. Claims submitted after 48 hours of delivery may not be eligible for support.

Cases Not Eligible for Refund or Replacement

To protect both our customers and our small business, the following situations are not covered by this Return and Refund Policy:

  • The tracking status shows “Delivered”, but the parcel cannot be located at the address.
  • The parcel is returned or refused because customs duties, taxes, or import fees were not paid by the customer.
  • The parcel cannot be delivered due to an incorrect, incomplete, or undeliverable address provided at checkout.
  • The parcel is unclaimed, refused, or returned to sender after attempted delivery by the local courier.
  • Delays caused by customs inspections, security checks, or local postal backlogs.
  • Minor cosmetic imperfections or natural variations in handmade teaware, as described above.
  • Damage resulting from misuse, improper cleaning, or failure to follow care instructions.

For international orders, matters relating to parcels that are lost or delayed in the destination country’s postal or customs system are governed by our Shipping Policy and are generally not eligible for refunds under this Return and Refund Policy.

How to Start a Return

  1. Email us at support@store-chazhiji.com with:
    • Your order number
    • The item(s) you would like to return
    • The reason for the return
    • Photos or videos if the item is defective, damaged, or incorrect
  2. Wait for our reply and return authorization with detailed packing and shipping instructions.
  3. Ship the item back within 7 days of receiving our approval.
  4. After we receive and inspect your return, we will issue store credit within 5 business days if the return is approved.
